Kinolume Studio ("Kinolume", "we", "us") is an AI cinematic video studio based in British Columbia, Canada, operated by Nir Katz. This policy explains what personal information we collect through kinolumestudio.com and in our work with clients, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
When you contact us
Our contact form asks for your name, studio or game, email address, the type of project and your project details. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
When you request a free test shot
Our test shot form asks for your name, role, studio, work email, a link to your store or official game page, a link to public character art, the character you'd like to see and a short description of the shot. We use this to confirm that requests come from game studios and to plan the shot.
When we work together
During a project, studios may share reference materials such as character art, models, story documents and other unreleased content. These materials can include confidential business information; see Reference materials below.
Technical information
Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details in order to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. To block spam, our forms use anti-bot checks, which may include Cloudflare Turnstile. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
How we use your information
- To reply to your inquiry or test shot request
- To evaluate test shot requests and confirm they come from game studios
- To plan, produce and deliver work you hire us for
- To keep business records, such as correspondence and invoices, as required by law
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Reference materials
We treat every reference material a studio shares with us as strictly confidential:
- We're happy to sign your NDA, or provide ours, before you share anything.
- Your materials are used only as reference for your project. We never use them to train or fine-tune AI models.
- Only the people working on your project can see them.
- We never publish or share your project, including in our reel, until you've approved it and your game is announced.
- When the project wraps, we return or delete your reference materials on request.
Where a signed NDA or contract with you includes different or stricter terms, those terms apply.
Service providers we use
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run our business. They process information on our behalf and only for these purposes:
- Cloudflare hosts this website, delivers form submissions to our inbox and provides spam protection.
- Google (Gmail and Google Workspace) hosts our email, where form submissions and correspondence are stored. Fonts on this site are also loaded from Google Fonts.
- AI generation tools are used during production to create shots from reference materials, under the confidentiality commitments above.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. If you close the offer banner at the top of the site, your browser remembers that choice locally so the banner stays hidden; this information never leaves your device. Our hosting and spam-protection providers may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technology to keep the site secure.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiries and correspondence for as long as needed to respond and maintain our business relationship, and project and billing records for as long as tax and business laws require. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to our use of it, at any time by emailing hello@kinolumestudio.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If we cannot fulfil a request, for example because the law requires us to keep certain records, we'll explain why.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections to this site, access limited to the people who need it and accounts protected with strong passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Who this site is for
This website and our services are intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
