Terms of Service

Effective October 21, 2026 · Last updated: October 23, 2026

These terms apply when you use kinolumestudio.com, gaming.kinolumestudio.com or stories.kinolumestudio.com, or when you order a film from us. Kinolume Studios Inc. ("Kinolume Studio", "Kinolume", "we", "us") is an AI cinematic video studio incorporated in British Columbia, Canada. By using our websites or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our websites or services.

1. Using our websites

You may browse our websites and contact us for personal or business purposes. Please don't misuse them: don't send spam or false requests through our forms, try to break or overload the sites, or copy our films, reels, logos or text for your own use without our permission.

2. Game studio projects (Kinolume Gaming)

Trailers, concept-test creatives and other work for game studios are governed by the written proposal, quote or agreement we sign with your studio, including any NDA. If that agreement says something different from these terms, the agreement applies.

Free test shots are offered at our discretion. We may decline a request for any reason, for example if we can't confirm that it comes from the studio that owns the game. Test shots are watermarked, are for your evaluation only and come with no obligation on either side.

3. Kinolume Stories

This section applies when you order a personal film from Kinolume Stories, such as a Dream Film made from recent photos or a Memory Film made from old photos.

3.1 Who can order (adults only)

3.2 Identity and age checks

Before we start a film, we may ask you, and anyone else who will appear in it, to confirm your age and identity. We may do this by video call, by checking a photo ID, or through a third-party verification service. We use ID only to complete the check: we don't keep copies of ID documents, only a note that the check was done. If a check can't be completed, or the results don't match, we may decline or cancel the order (see section 3.6).

When you send us photos for a film, you confirm that:

We may ask each person who will appear in a film to confirm their consent directly. If anyone withdraws their consent before delivery, we will stop work on the film. You are responsible for any claim that arises because these confirmations were untrue.

3.4 What we won't make

We make films that celebrate people's stories. We will not make films that:

We decide whether a request fits these rules, and we may decline any request without giving a reason.

3.5 Quotes, payment and delivery

3.6 Cancellations and refunds

Nothing in this section limits any refund you're entitled to under consumer protection law.

3.7 About AI-generated films

Your film is created with AI generation tools, then edited and finished by us. It is a creative interpretation of your story, not a record of real events. We work to make every face recognisable and true to your photos, but AI-generated likenesses won't always be perfect, and results depend on the quality of the photos you send. Your review rounds are there to fix what matters to you.

Please don't present your film as real footage in a way that could mislead people, and follow any rules on labelling AI-generated content on the platforms where you share it.

3.8 Using your film

4. Our content

Our websites, reels, films, logos and text belong to Kinolume Studios Inc. or are used with permission. Game titles, characters and artwork shown in our gaming work belong to their respective owners. People shown in our demo films appear for demonstration only.

5. Responsibility and liability

We provide our websites as they are and do our best to keep them accurate and available, but we can't promise they will always be error-free or online.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any film or project is limited to the amount you paid us for it, and we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or missed events, that we could not reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded, including British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.

You agree to cover any claims, costs or losses we face because you broke these terms, including by sharing photos without the right or consent to do so.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information, including the photos you share for a film.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of British Columbia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. We'd always rather resolve problems by talking first, so please contact us.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our services change. The effective date at the top shows when they were last updated. The terms in force when you accept a quote apply to that order.
